Tulips, Tulips Everywheree!

What started of as a sleepy and dreary Sunday morning quickly turned into a warm and sunny Sunday 'a-little-past-morning'. After an hour on the train, 35 minutes waiting for the LATE shuttle bus and another 20 minutes ON the shuttle bus, WE WERE FINALLY GOING TO SEE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF TULIPS!

By 'we' I mean Nishi, Lin Jing, Yvonne, Ling and myself.

So we got off the bus filled with excited anticipation and lined up to buy our entry tickets. Once that was done, we walked in....

*drumroll*......

no tulip fields :( Only tiny ( tiny relative to what I had imagined) tulip garden... :( Boo hoo. But then I thought. "Oh well, they still look pretty anyway", and went about clicking away with my camera. They were really pretty tulips! So many different types and colours.

Then we walked down further and that was when we saw it... Rows and rows of tulips stretching across a field easily 3 times the size of a football (and I mean soccer not the other football) field. Yayyyy!!! There was my tulip field! :p Hehe.

So we lazed around a bit eating our snackity food and then took many many many more pictures and then went for lunch. After lunch, we went 'hunting' for the little garden gnomes scattered across the place since we would get a 'sweet' if we found all 7 of them. And we REALLY wanted that sweet... *rolls eyes* So after a gazillion hours searching for the stupid gnomes (i swear they were hiding from us!!), we finally found 6 and then copied the last one off a little kid. Mind you, most of the other people looking for gnomes had a maximum height of 4 feet (not counting Nishi :p) so it was probably easier for them to spot them darn gnomes!

So we finally had our 7 gnomes, but then we had to rush to catch the shuttle bus back to the train station. So much for the sweet. Meh. It had still been a great day :) :)

Some pictures (out of the 200+ that we took :p)...

Our failed attempt at a jumping photo :s

Us landing after that failed attempt... :p

One random white tulip with tiny pink streaks. So cute!!!

One of my favourite pictures mainly because of what it represents to me :)

Nice contrast

The tulip fields that did not disappoint after all :p

Who knew that bloomed tulips looked like this?

Wall E

On Tuesday, I went with a few friends to (somewhat reluctantly) watch Disney and Pixar's widely acclaimed 'WALL.E'. I say I was reluctant because I could not imagine how I would find a weird robot making weird robotic sounds and zooming around a dying planet interesting.

BUT

I'd heard many people talking about what a good movie it was and decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. So I watched it.

AND...

It was good!! Better than good in fact. The storyline was highly original and also totally different from any other animated film thus far. There was also a good balance of humour and drama. Within the first 10 minutes of the movie, I had fallen desperately in love with WALL.E. I know you would never believe me if you just looked at the poster, but WALL.E is sooooo cute throughout the whole movie! I wanted to squeeze him so bad! But of course, he's made out of steel and would therefore be a hazard to me if I did ever get the chance (perhaps in my dreams? :p) to squeeze him.

Sooooo, my advice to anyone reading this who hasn't already watched the movie is to WATCH THE MOVIE!

This is me going through a dry spell... I have written and deleted 3 half-posts. Fail fail fail.

Perhaps the stars will be more in my favour tomorrow.

But for now, I leave you with a picture I found at the website of a wedding photographer:

Does it not set your heart aflutter? *sigh*

More bee-oo-tee-ful pictures at http://www.csrichards.com/ :) :)

Blogs of Note

Ever noticed how 90% of the 'Blogs of Note' on Blogger are American? I guess it is a reflection of the fraction of Americans who use Blogger as opposed to people from other countries... How to know for sure?

Well, whatever the reason is, I wish the people who choose the 'Blogs of Note' choose more culturally diverse blogs just so it's more fun to read. (Yes, I have become one of those people who reads other people's blogs! :s) Really, who wants to read about another American mom who blogs about her kids and art/cooking/weightloss/artcookingandweightloss? Not me!

Anyway, on to a different topic. Today's weather was really nice but has only just turned cloudy. It even got to 27 degrees at one point! The only downside is that the flies have come out!! And there is one that is buzzing in front of me now. Gggrrr (=.=) I should be buying some bugspray soon-ish.

Oh and I had some pretty good canned lemon tea today at Brunetti's - I think it was imported from Italy because the writing on the label was in Italian.

I was really annoyed that I'd paid for canned iced lemon tea. But to my surprise, it tasted good! It wasn't too sweet nor was it acidic. I highly recommend! If they had just poured it straight into the glass, I would never have guessed that it was canned. Hehe :p

Everyday Feels Like A Sunday :) *cue SUN* :p

Yes, I am most certainly enjoying my break! Hehe. For those unlucky people who happen to have school/uni/work while I am living the lazy life, your time will come... eventually.... But my time is NOW!! Teehee :p

(By the way, 'teehee' is my new retarded laugh... but only on msn and here :p I cannot (and must not) be too retarded in real life...) OH look! I used brackets within brackets! Hee :p

So yeah, I've been reading my old posts (from the very first ones) and I must say that I've become boring-er (more boring?)!!! I should try to use more pictures and stuff. And I don't think my newer posts are written as randomly as the older ones. Perhaps I have become more mature of mind? :p

Ok, reading what I've typed for this post thus far makes me realise that maybe I haven't matured as much as I hoped/thought since January :) But that's alright! I will start thinking and acting my age eventually... *fingers crossed!*

Anyway, on to the title of this post - I met up with my old school friend, Sher Reen, today just for a catch-up session. And the weather was wonderful!!! The sun was shining, the sky way this lovely blue, the birds were chirping (I swear they were!) and it was neither too hot nor too cold. PERFECT! And so for some weird reason, I kept thinking that today is a Sunday. Haha. Confused - me, yes?

And then Sher Reen said, "Everyday feels like a Sunday for me". I totally feel the same way! Hehe.

(Too many exclamation marks in this post? Deal with it!) :p

Monday 22 September 2008

It is now 1:20 a.m. and even though my eyes feel like closing, there's this childish part of me that wants to stay up for as long as I can simply because tomorrow is a holiday!

Why sleep when you have nothing to wake up for? :p

Yeah, so who's convinced that I have the reasoning skills of an 8 year old? Hehe.

I finally finished readin the kite runner. I think it's the best book that I've read in a loooong time. I'm going to start this book called 'The Secret History' by Donna Tartt. I hope it's a nice read :) And then after that one is finished, I'm going to read 'Catch 22' by some random guy... too lazy to check the book cover now :p

I don't like fat horses.
Going to sleep now. I give up trying to stay up. Meh.

How To Be A Bum

  1. Sleep for at least half the day (12 hours to be exact).
  2. Laze in bed for another 2 hours before becoming slightly more physically active.
  3. Stare into space and think random thoughts every 15 minutes or so.
  4. Turn on the TV and watch anything that's showing.
  5. Pile your dishes in the sink until there really isn't anymore space.
  6. Wait till your laundry basket is overflowing (or you run out of clean socks) before stuffing the whole load into the washing machine.
  7. Keep all your important items within arms length so that minimal movement is required to reach for them.
  8. Laze in bed...
  9. Or you could facebook... :p
  10. OR you could SLEEP MORE. Lol :)
Yeah.... Let's hope that I don't get worse than I already am ;)

Bring It Onnnnn!!! :p

Yup. I've finished my last assignment before Spring Break!!!! So now I'm freeee :p
For now.... Hehe.

The feeling is getting me very excited, so bear with me!! :)

Anywayyyy.....

I have made a list of things I want to do during the break. No travelling, just laid back things like baking, and reading, and watching shows, and sleeping!!!! Hehe. I so cannot wait! Bring it on! Haha.

I sound retarded. Yeah, I'm aware of it :)

To end this post perfectly, I would like to show you a picture of me, my friend Shanika, and my bee-oo-tee-ful shoe :) :) (Who needs men when you have shoes? :p)

One Sweet Love

I was listening to Sara Bareilles last night and the lyrics of this song only just hit me. I find it sooooo romantic!! *sigh*

The time that I've taken
I pray is not wasted
Have I already tasted my piece of one sweet love?
Ready and waiting for a heart worth the breaking
But I'd settle for an honest mistake in the name of
One sweet love.

I wanntttt!!!
(waiting for my one sweet love... :p)

Of Procrastination and Shoes

I am supposed to be studying for my mid semester test which is in approximately 4.5 hours... But no, what am I doing really? You guessed it - Procrastinating!!! Omg, it's so difficult to sit down and complete 2 questions in a row... They are longish calculus questions that require too much writing for me to be bothered - even though I really enjoy the subject. Laziness is my greatest flaw... I think? Notice that I said GREATEST. So I'm not saying that it is my ONLY flaw, just that it's the biggest one that I have by far. Everything I am not can be tied to the fact that I am a lazy person. Am I really a lazy person? Some people say no... I say they haven't known me long enough. Hehe.

Ok, this post has gone horribly of tangent. Lol, I used a maths term! Hehe. Seriously, I think all this maths is driving me a bit crazy. Yeah, only a bit. A bit crazier than I previously was. Haha :p

Oh and on shoes!!! I am going to the Newman College Ball which is going to be held in some underground club (yes, literally underground!) called Platform 1... and get this - it's on a road called Banana Alley. Lol!! So yeah, I need a new pair of shoes for the occasion. I saw the most perfect pair of shoes at Midas a week back. I'm too scared to check how much it is. I can't find a picture of them to put here but they were GORGEOUS!!! I think they cost more than $200 :( Feel sad for me?

Tomorrow is going to be one crazy day for me - Uni then lunch then meeting then shopping then getting ready for the Ball then going for the Ball... and then? Who knows :p

That's all for now!

Monday 8 September 2008

Today felt good :)
I finished most of the work I had set out to do and still managed to squeeze in some tv time and aimless msn chatting time :p

Soon it will be sleeping time and tomorrow the craziness and chaos that is uni starts again. I can't wait for the next to weeks to be over because after that is Spring Break! Yayy for me :)

PostSecret

I found this on PostSecret. My first thought - :s
